Antique Railroad Communication Equipment Values

Railroads obviously had a need to communicate over large areas to coordinate train schedules and orders. With the advent of the telegraph they were able to communicate across cities and states, and when the telephone was invented they quickly adopted it. Telegraph and early telephone equipment is collectible and many people treasure these early precursors to our modern wired (or maybe wireless now) world.

These items are reasonably rare, and often large and bulky when they include the original stands or cabinets so they can bring prices well into the hundreds of dollars.
