Star Headlight & Lantern Railroad Value Guide

The Star Headlight and Lantern Company began production in 1889 and still exists to this day, although they now produce battery-powered LED lights and lamps for railroads as well as police and other emergency personnel. Star produced tall-globe lanterns which appear very infrequently on the marketplace and tend to be quite valuable. One unique feature of Star Tall-Globe Lanterns is that they stamped the railroad initials on the shoulder of the smoke dome in very large letters. In addition to being rare, the large lettering allows for some great display opportunities to the lucky collector who owns one!
